Ibadah Haji Dalam Al-Qur’an

Abstract

Pilgrimage becomes a heated issue in 2020. There are at least three reasons for this proposition. The first reason is that due to Covid19, Muslims from all over the world cannot perform pilgrimage this year except those who stay in Saudi Arabia. The second reason is that pilgrimage has been an interesting subject of religious debate in Indonesia since at the beginning of 2020. The third reason is that pilgrimage is an international activity because Muslim throughout the world can involve in this yearly ritual. This paper aims to reveal philosophical values of pilgrimage (ḥajj) in the Qur’an. It is a qualitative descriptive research which conveys contextual thematic approach. Through this method Qur’anic verses of ḥajj are collected, classified, and analysed. The research result shows that ḥajj has high philosophical values. These values lay on the economic, political, cultural and social aspects. The research also shows that the secret and mistery of ḥajj can be experienced by pilgrim individually.
