AUTHOR GUIDELINES

General Requirements

  • Manuscripts may be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English.
  • The manuscript must be original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under review in another journal.
  • Authors are responsible for the content, language quality, and ethical standards of their manuscript.

Manuscript Format

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx).
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt, 1.5 spacing.
  • Paper size: A4, with all margins set to 3 cm.
  • Length: 10–15 pages (4,000–6,000 words) including tables, figures, and bibliography.

Title, Authors, and Affiliations

  • Title should be concise, informative, and not exceed 14 words.
  • Write the full name(s) of the author(s) without academic degrees.
  • Include institutional affiliation and the corresponding author’s email address.

Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract must be written either in Indonesian or English. Authors are encouraged to provide abstracts in both languages (Indonesian and English) for wider readership.
  • Maximum 250 words, summarizing background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion.
  • Provide 3–5 keywords that represent the main concepts.

Structure of the Manuscript

The manuscript should follow this structure:

  1. Introduction. Explain research background, problem statement, and research gap. State the objective(s) and significance of the study.
  2. Method. Describe research design, data sources, sampling, instruments, and analysis procedures.
  3. Results and Discussion. Present findings clearly, supported by tables/figures. Discuss findings in relation to previous studies.
  4. Conclusion. Provide a brief summary of the main findings and implications.
  5. References. The references section should list all sources cited in the manuscript, arranged alphabetically by the first author’s last name. Use a consistent citation style and provide complete, accurate details for each reference. Ensure every in-text citation matches an entry in the reference list.

Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and given clear, descriptive titles.
  • Each table/figure must be referred to in the text.
  • Sources of adapted data, if any, should be acknowledged.

Citation and Bibliography

  • This journal uses footnote citation style following the Chicago Manual of Style (Full Note).
  • Examples:
    • Book:
      ¹ John W. Creswell, Research Design: Qualitative, Quantitative, and Mixed Methods Approaches (Los Angeles: SAGE, 2014), 25.
    • Journal article:
      ² Azyumardi Azra, “Islam in Southeast Asia,” Studia Islamika 7, no. 2 (2000): 15–20.
  • All cited works must be listed in the bibliography at the end of the manuscript.
  • Authors are strongly encouraged to use Mendeley or Zotero with Chicago Full Note style to manage references.

Submission

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the OJS system of Al-Mizan: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah.
  • The editorial team reserves the right to return manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines.
